What Lift Mod is/was, is a mod mod based off the anime
Eureka 7, which is based in a future where larger-than-life mechs combat eachother midair by flying around on surfboard-like devices powered by special particles (which give them their lifting powers.) For a while, it was high up in the ModDB rankings of highly anticipated mods. This gave the mod astronomically high expectations for its finished quality, which was the cause for the mod team's dissipation.
As a gamemode this wouldn't have to have such high expectations, and could possibly finish being made. The work of creating all the models is pretty much done, they just need some people skilled in LUA to help them make this become a reality. Things they would need coded would be along the lines of a flight system, and a system to help you choose which mech you want to fly in.
