Unless you have been hiding under a Mapping forum rock, you will know about the Mapping contest which has been in the running for about 3 weeks now. The quality was high for both of the contests, and with some decent numbers of entries, andl the results are in, the winners are as follows for each competition.
Mapping Contest #4 Post-Apocalyptic/Destroyed (http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=761621)
The winner for this contest was Peatear (http://www.facepunch.com/member.php?u=133207), with quite an intresing landscape and some impressive detail.
Second was omega332 (http://www.facepunch.com/member.php?u=55395) with his amazingly swift entry, which also had a high quality.
and third was Hazrd24 (http://www.facepunch.com/member.php?u=134332), Hazrd24 map was unique in the fact that all the rubbish in the map moved, and was interactive.
check out the thread (http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=761621) for the other entries.
Mapping Contest #5 Surreal (http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=761623)
This contest came up with some very intresting maps, with 2 high quality maps. The winner for this contest was Evil Scotsman (http://www.facepunch.com/member.php?u=147817), his map can only be described as "Unique" and extremely creative and the brush work is good.
Second place was Lord Pirate (http://www.facepunch.com/member.php?u=86118), with what has been said to be "Coolest transition from water to glass in Source that I've ever seen" by djshox
Check out the Surreal contest thread (http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=761623) for the rest of the entries, as none of the others got many votes. Be sure to check the mapping forum for a "Grand Map-off" for a gold membership prize.[...]
