I'm sure you've heard of the gamemode Onslaught Evolved before. It's like Darkspider's Fortwars, but this time all players work together against NPC's. However, conman420 (http://www.facepunch.com/member.php?u=87686) is now making an awesome sequel: Onslaught Evolved 2: Survival of the Fittest! It's still a work in progress, but he's shown us enough information to guarantee it's gonna kick ass!

Here's a list of features:

- New gamemode: Defend the core
You have to defend the core. NPC's get stronger as time passes by, and every now and then a strider boss will come (on combine maps only) and cause a bit of mayhem. The more your core is damaged the longer respawning takes. Also if your core is being damaged spawning is temporarily disabled until it is safe.

- New SNPCs instead of the normal VALVe ones
They auto target players and if they are blocked by a prop they attack that instead of players. However, if they see the core they'll attack that one first.

- New Inventory system
Not using classes this time, but characters, which means a more RPG style of playing. This solves the problem of no one playing each class and also allows you to collect more and more weapons.

- Weapon drop system
Every now and then a NPC might drop a weapon if they die, this weapon can be anything from a humble pistol to a flamethrower, this allows new players to quickly accumulate a small amount of weapons so they don't feel left out.

- Weight system
To overcome players becoming overpowered and to allow for more replayability OE2 will have a weight system. New players can carry slightly less weapons and ammo than higher level players, but before you scream UNBALANCED, the advantage won't give the 'elite' a huge advantage it will simply mean they can carry a bigger variety of weapons instead of perhaps being limited to just one or two.

The author has also made some flowcharts to show what his plans are in terms of gameplay:

Also, he's looking for modelers for the core and the weapons, so if you're experienced at modeling stuff, go ahead and post it in the thread![...]
