Some of you may remember the popular first trailer we showcased a while back (http://www.garrysmod.com/?dont_buff_my_pylon=1313). Pixel Eyes Productions has a new teaser to show us showing off more of the plot of chapter one of their series, Shelf Life.
Be sure to give their site (http://www.pixeleyesproductions.com/) a look over, too!
They also have typed up a nice little block of text telling us more about themselves, check it out:
pixel eyes productions is Jon Sortland and James Spencer.
Early in 2007 we decided to try recording a little scene using Garry's Mod and Half Life 2 content. When we started we did not know that there was a term for filming movies within a video game or where exactly we were headed with what we were doing.
We soon discovered that machinima was a popular media and there were already a lot of people creating amazing films within a wide variety of game engines.
Our game engine of choice is the Source engine developed by Valve. The games we use include Half Life 2, Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, Portal and Team Fortress.
The game that really allowed us to break into these games and explore the world of machinima is a mod for Half Life 2 called Garry's Mod (GMod). Garry's Mod allows you load any model or map and set up scenes or create gadgets to your hearts content and was definitely the catalyst to our machinima aspirations.
After many hours of research and testing we slowly began improving our skills until we finally were able to tap into most of the technical aspects of the tools offered by Valve and third party tools offered by many industrious geeks.
Based in San Francisco California we wander around our beautiful city, work in coffee shops and put in long hours in front of our monitors.
We continue to pursue innovative new techniques for filming and always look for other machinima makers who love to create high quality films.[...]
